Charles F. Porter, the actor and producer behind the 2025 film Finding Faith, has died at 47 after a long battle with cancer. His wife, Candice Tab-Porter, announced in a Facebook post that he died Nov. 2.

The Hollywood Reporter reported that Porter had lived with Hodgkin lymphoma for about 17 years.

Tab-Porter wrote that she believes "God brought us to each other for a reason." She remembered her husband as a man of integrity who never compromised his values and never complained about his illness, calling it part of their journey. She also said she is grateful their daughters, Layla Rose, 9, and Juliette Jasmine, 6, had him in their earliest years.

Born in the U.K. in 1979, Porter played defensive end at Duke University before turning to acting. He appeared in TV shows including House, Bones, The Parkers and Without a Trace. He starred as NASCAR pioneer Wendell Scott in ESPN's 2011 film Wendell Scott: A Race Story. Scott was the first Black driver to win a NASCAR Cup Series race.

Most recently, Porter produced Finding Faith, the 2025 Lifetime movie starring Paula Patton and Keith David.

Along with his wife and daughters, Porter is survived by his mother, a brother, and a sister.

JubileeCast extends its prayers to the Porter family during this difficult time.
